DSLRs with HD video capabilities have changed the way many of us shoot and many photographers are being asked to return from assignments with videos, or simply making that choice themselves to make their business stand out from the crowd. A head that can be both a photo ballhead with 3-axis adjustment, and a fluid video head for pan and tilt movements. Most photographers already have a regular ballhead for stills photography and I know that on more than one occasion I have eagerly added my video head ( a Manfrotto 701 HDV) to my to-be-packed pile before a trip, only to cull it from the list at... Combine that with the tendency to create rolling shutter artifacts when panning too fast and you quickly realize that a good video head (fluid head) is necessary to get even a reasonable job done unless you are using a large shoulder mount system. Manfrotto have set out to solve this conundrum with the 055 Mag Photo-Movie head. The problem is that DSLR video is incredibly susceptible to camera shake because in-body image stabilization has yet to be implemented in these larger cameras....
Although my usual size for panoramas ranges between 8,000-10,000 pixels in width, but with Canon's 15mm fisheye lens you would have the choice to expand beyond up to 20,000 pixels in width, while with Rokinon's 8mm fisheye, you are limited to 13,000. i assume you mean Sony HVR Z1, the USA version weighs 4 pounds, 4 ounces. the E version is probably the same. i would not use that support with this camera, but you decide.

Can anyone recommend a Manfrotto tripod?
I need something that will hold my Canon Rebel XS. The lenses mounted on it won't be more than 2-3 pounds, if that helps.
My limit is $200. Anything cheaper would be nice, but I don't want something cheaply made.
This is the one I bought a few months ago. It is a nice tripod and it comes with a pan/tilt head. I like the pan head, but you may not. It also has the quick release plate, which is nice.

In general any of the Manfrotto tripods will work fine for you. All you mention wanting is something to hold your camera. Theyre all capable of that from the least expensive to the most expensive.

I would suggest Manfrotto 7302YB M-Y Tripod with Ball, sturdy, not too heavy, and not too expensive. Max load 7.7 lbs.

This is the one I bought a few months ago. It is a nice tripod and it comes with a pan/tilt head. I like the pan head, but you may not. It also has the quick release plate, which is nice.
